We invite everyone to submit a design for our new little libraries in Springfield. If selected, you will be given all materials to complete your design.
The designs will be judged by representatives of the Springfield Art Gym, Springfield Housing Authority, and the Springfield Family Center staff. All materials to finish the project will be provided to the winners.
The finished and decorated little libraries will be placed at the Springfield Family Center, Mountain View Apartments, and Westview Apartments so that all can enjoy reading materials.
The design and the contest submission form (available at this link or in person at the library) are due no later than April 30th (DEADLINE EXTENDED).
Please return both to the library at 43 Main Street. They may be left in an envelope marked “Contest” and placed in the book drop if you wish.
Litttle Library Design Contest
These Little Libraries were sponsored by the Springfield Rotary Club and were auctioned in 2022 to benefit FOSTL. They can be found around Springfield at the Commons Park, Black River Coffee Bar, Pearl Street Creative, and on Route 106.
Thanks to a Sustainable & Resilient New England Libraries Grant from the Association of Rural and Small Libraries, the Springfield Town Library will be able to add three additional little libraries to give the Springfield community more 24/7 outdoor access to books.
