3.2 Nondiscrimination

The Springfield Town Library endorses and abides by the principles set forth in the Declaration of Inclusion adopted by the Springfield Selectboard on January 24, 2022 (Attached as Appendix S) in all Library policies and procedures.

As a municipal library, we expressly commit to:

  • Welcoming all persons regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, and disability;

  • Treating everyone in our community fairly and equitably;

  • Ensuring equitable access to library resources, positions of governance, and educational opportunities;

  • Reflecting these commitments in our actions, policies, and operating procedures.
